Yoki Arcade Is Live

Yoki Arcade is an onchain PvP mini-game hub built by the Astar Collective. It runs inside Startale App on Soneium, where players select a Yoki Core NFT as their fighter, offer ASTR, and compete in duels. The opening game is Jan-Ken-Pon: both Challengers commit their element choice to the game's smart contract before either can see the other's hand, reveal simultaneously, and the winner takes the full combined pool. Jan-Ken-Pon is the first game in Yoki Arcade; additional games may be added over time.

Jan-Ken-Pon

Jan-Ken-Pon takes one of Japan's most recognizable games onchain. A match runs in four steps:

  1. Open: Select a Yoki Core, choose an offering tier (100, 500, or 2,500 ASTR), and commit your element onchain.
  2. Join: A second Challenger joins at the same offering tier and commits their element.
  3. Reveal: Both Challengers reveal simultaneously. The contract reads both elements at once.
  4. Resolution: The winner receives the full combined pool, with nothing retained by the contract. A draw refunds each Challenger's individual offering in full.

If a Challenger commits but does not reveal, the match is treated as a forfeit and the opponent wins the pool by default.

Element cycle

The element cycle determines every match outcome. Fire beats Wind, Wind beats Earth, Earth beats Water, and Water beats Fire. Pairings outside this cycle (Fire vs Earth, Water vs Wind, and same-element matchups) always draw.

Yoki Cores

Yoki Cores are the fighters that enter Jan-Ken-Pon. Each is an NFT carrying one of four elements: Hi (Fire), Mizu (Water), Kaze (Wind), or Tsuchi (Earth).

Each Core is stored in the Challenger's Startale smart contract wallet and is immediately eligible for play.

Yoki Legacy NFTs and Yoki Origins, the two existing Yoki collections on Soneium, are not playable in Jan-Ken-Pon. Holders qualify for the Summoner Bundle, a full set of four Yoki Cores.

Summoner Bundle

The Summoner Bundle is a full set of four Yoki Cores, one per element, at no ASTR cost. Eligibility is based on a wallet snapshot. One bundle per wallet, regardless of how many Legacy or Origins NFTs that wallet holds. Existing NFTs remain in your wallet unchanged.

The window closes on June 1 at 23:59:59 UTC. To check eligibility and claim, connect your Startale smart contract wallet at https://app.startale.com/miniapps#yoki-arcade. If your wallet qualifies, the claim option appears automatically.

ASTR in Yoki Arcade

ASTR is the currency of Yoki Arcade in two forms.

Minting. Each Yoki Core mint costs ASTR: 100 ASTR for a single Core, 350 ASTR for a full set. Every mint places a permanent playable asset in the Challenger's wallet.

Match offerings. Every match requires an ASTR offering from both Challengers at one of three tiers: 100, 500, or 2,500 ASTR. The combined offering enters the game's smart contract and is held for the duration of the match. The winner receives 100% of the pool. A draw returns each Challenger's offering in full, with the contract retaining nothing.

The result is two distinct ASTR flows on Soneium: Core minting generates demand each time a Challenger acquires a new fighter, and match offerings generate recurring demand with every duel played. This is the Astar Collective's product-led approach in practice: building products that route real onchain activity to ASTR.

How to Play

  1. Open Startale App and connect your Startale smart contract wallet.
  2. Navigate to https://app.startale.com/miniapps#yoki-arcade
  3. If your wallet qualifies for the Summoner Bundle, claim your free set of four Yoki Cores. Otherwise, mint at least one Core (100 ASTR for a single, 350 ASTR for a full set).
  4. Select a Yoki Core and choose your offering tier: 100, 500, or 2,500 ASTR.
  5. Commit your element. It is recorded onchain in sealed form and remains invisible to your opponent until the reveal phase.
  6. Once both Challengers have committed, both elements reveal simultaneously and the match resolves onchain.
